Great leaders don't choose between leading and managing. They know when to do both.

There's a myth I sometimes hear in leadership circles: that "real" leaders inspire and delegate, whilst managers get bogged down in the detail.
Leadership provides the vision and inspiration to drive a team forward. Management provides the structure, processes, and oversight required to turn that vision into reality. Neglecting either is a mistake. One produces a motivated team going nowhere. The other produces an efficient machine with no purpose.
A healthy balance means blending two distinct but equally critical approaches:
Leadership — The 'Why' → Setting inspiring, long-term vision and direction → Challenging the status quo and driving innovation → Building trust, developing talent, and connecting people to the bigger picture
Management — The 'How' → Creating roadmaps, allocating resources, and defining clear metrics → Ensuring timelines, guidelines, and budgets are followed → Reviewing performance, providing feedback, and maintaining accountability
The most effective leaders balance leading and managing. Knowing when a team needs inspiration and when it needs structure.
